About Iowa Hospice Organization

Since 1981, the Iowa Hospice Organization (IHO) has been the statewide leader in the enhancement of end-of-life care through representation of and services to hospices in Iowa. IHO is made up of more than 80 hospices and individual hospice employees from across Iowa and governed by a board of officers. The IHO offices are located in Des Moines.

Goals

A. Provide members with education and information promoting the delivery of quality, end-of-life care.

B. Conduct a public marketing campaign promoting hospice awareness.

C. Build on shared characteristics and goals of palliative care to improve end-of-life care.

D. Engage hospice advocates through education to actively support IHO's legislative agenda.

E. Seek and build relationships with key stakeholders in hospice and end-of-life care.
